Copyright Policy

LAST UPDATED OCTOBER 5, 2026

puh.gg lets people build profile pages, upload images and files, add music and share links. We respect the rights of artists, photographers, musicians, brands and everyone else whose work appears online, and we expect our users to do the same. This policy explains what you may upload, how rights holders can have content removed, and how users can challenge a removal. It applies to profiles, the image host, short links, pastes, templates and everything else on puh.gg. It follows the EU Digital Services Act and German copyright law, and we also accept notices in the format of the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).

1. What you may upload

Only upload or link content that you have the right to use on puh.gg. That is the case when:

  • you made it yourself (your own photos, art, videos, music, texts)
  • the rights holder allowed it, for example with a license that covers public display on a website
  • it is free to use, for example in the public domain or under a license such as CC0 or CC BY with the credit it asks for
  • the law allows it, for example a short quotation used to discuss or criticise a work, with the source named

German and EU law do not know a general "fair use" rule. Finding something on Google, Pinterest or Discord does not make it free to use, and naming the artist alone does not replace their permission.

2. Music on profiles

Tracks in your profile player are played to every visitor, which counts as making them available to the public. Most commercial songs need the permission of the label and the authors (in Germany usually through GEMA) for that. Use music you made yourself, royalty-free music whose license covers websites, or music the rights holders allowed you to use. We remove tracks when the rights holder asks us to.

3. Pictures, backgrounds, fonts and templates

  • Avatars, banners, backgrounds, cursors and gallery photos follow the same rules as any other upload.
  • Fonts you upload must have a license that allows embedding on a website (a web font license).
  • Pictures of other people can also touch their personality rights. Do not upload photos of others without their consent.
  • Templates you share in the gallery must only contain material you may pass on to others.
  • Covers of games, films, series and albums in your profile sections are shown to identify the work you like. If a rights holder objects, we remove them.

4. Trademarks and impersonation

Do not use names, logos or brands of others in a way that suggests you are them or that they support you. Profiles that impersonate a person, creator, company or puh.gg itself are removed, and the account can be closed. Fan pages are fine when they clearly say they are fan pages.

5. Reporting an infringement

If you hold the rights to a work, or act for the person who does, and believe content on puh.gg infringes them, send a notice to [email protected]. You can also use the report form. To let us act quickly, your notice should include:

  • your name and email address, and the name of the rights holder if you act for someone else
  • the work that is infringed (for example a link to the original or a description)
  • the exact link to the content on puh.gg (a profile link, an image link such as /i/..., a short link or a paste link)
  • why you believe the use is not allowed
  • a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised, and that the information in your notice is accurate and complete
  • your signature, which can be your typed full name

Notices from the United States may follow the DMCA format (17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3)); then include the statement that you are authorised to act for the rights holder under penalty of perjury.

6. What happens next

  • We confirm that we received your notice and review it carefully, objectively and without undue delay.
  • If the notice is complete and the infringement is clear, we remove the content or block access to it.
  • We tell the user who posted it what was removed, why, on which rule or law the decision is based, and how they can challenge it, unless the law prevents us from doing so.
  • We tell you what we decided.
  • If a notice is incomplete or unclear, we may ask for more information before we act.

7. Challenging a removal

If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake, for example because you own the work, have a license or the use is allowed by law, you can challenge the decision within six months by email to [email protected]. Please include:

  • your puh.gg username and the email of your account
  • which content was removed and where it was
  • why you believe the removal was wrong, with proof such as a license or the original file if you have it
  • a statement that your information is accurate and complete

A member of our team who was not involved in the first decision reviews it. If the removal was wrong, we restore the content. We may pass your challenge on to the person who sent the notice, so that they can respond or go to court. Under the US DMCA, counter-notices must also include your consent to the jurisdiction of the competent court and a statement under penalty of perjury. You can also turn to a certified out-of-court dispute settlement body under the Digital Services Act or to the courts.

8. Repeat infringers

Every confirmed infringement is recorded as a warning on the account. Accounts with repeated infringements lose access to uploads or are suspended, and accounts that infringe rights again and again are closed. Paid extras are not refunded when an account is closed for this reason. We look at each case individually and take into account how serious the infringement was and whether it happened on purpose.

9. Misuse of notices

Do not send notices for content you do not hold the rights to, or to silence criticism or competitors. Knowingly false notices can make you liable for the damage they cause. We may stop handling notices from people who often send clearly unfounded ones.

10. Our own content

The puh.gg name, the Puh logo and ghost, the design of the website and dashboard, our badges, emojis, sounds, texts and code belong to Puh Network or its licensors. You may use the name and logo to link to your profile or to talk about puh.gg. Copying our design, badges or code, or selling items that look official, needs our written permission. Ask us at [email protected].

11. Contact

Copyright notices, challenges and all other legal requests go to [email protected]. For everything else see the contact page and our Terms of Service.
